The MCSS-D research management system is a framework in which the individual modules can be easily linked together to form an integrated system.

This complete research information system is based on the research core data set and the EU Cerif standard. The research information system manages data of projects, publications / output data und external service / achievements and provides current Profiles of all researchers and their publication lists. With the Evaluation tool all user groups evaluate the data accessible to them / activated for them and export it in the desired format.

The Grants Management Tool supports the acquisition of third-party funds and the securing and processing of third-party financing
Calculators: Donor-specific project cost calculators based on German collective agreements, which also compare internal university costs and maximum funding contributions. Examples: AZA, AZAP, ZIM, EU, DFG, investment banks. Calculators adapted to Switzerland (university and university of applied sciences) are also available
With the module Ethics/IRB approval processes in the areas of data protection, research ethics, animal welfare, etc. are mapped and supported. Self-assessment questionnaires are also available, which show researchers which legal requirements their project is subject to
The Contract management maps the process from drafting the contract to linking the contract content/milestones with project management, payment processing and archiving

In Management information MCSS-D offers in addition to the sophisticated evaluation tool:

The module Accreditation. This presents the current data according to the evaluation guidelines of the accreditation agency and shows progress along the improvement axes/indices.
User specific Cockpits (researchers, research management, controlling, personnel department, management committees, etc.) serve as a starting point for daily work, are linked to the financial and HR systems and provide users with all the information they need at a glance.

In the module Ethics/IRB additional approval processes in the areas of data protection, research ethics, animal welfare regulations, etc. are mapped and supported.
